RACE ONE: Schindler’s Way, Austin MN

Date: August 26–27, 2023

Race Location:
Todd Park
11th Street and, 21st Ave NE
Austin, MN 55912

Please click on the button below to learn more information about race day, including parking, concessions, race route, etc!

Races are arranged by age group. When you view the schedule, you will see a designation of D1 or D2. We are a Division One (D1) Team, so look for those D1 times.

  1. For older riders, how do I know if they are JV2, JV3 or Varsity? It’s listed in your membership, licenses and certifications on the CCN website (where you registered for races). A general rule of thumb: JV2=10th-12th Grade, JV3=11th-12th Grade, Varsity=Seniors.

  2. What is a Call-Up, and how do I know what mine is? Beyond the race times for each age/skill group, there are “call-ups.” This is a number that indicates where you will be placed in the race line up. Call-ups will be posted on the MCA race website closer to race weekend. Link to race page below. This info will also be at our race tent.

  3. Is there a special time on race weekend racers can pre-ride the course? This year, you can pre-ride the course:

    1. Friday from 4:30 pm* – sunset; (start time may vary depending on course set, do not enter the course until it is announced and marked as open)

    2. Saturday from ~7:30 am – 11:00 am (last rider may enter course, all riders must be off the course by 11:30 am) and

    3. Saturday afternoon, after racing is concluded and the course is announced as open for pre-ride – sunset, and

    4. Sunday from 7:00 AM (last rider on course at 7:30 am, all riders must be off the course by 8:00 am).

  4. When do I arrive? If you can’t pre-ride, arrive at least one hour before your race begins. Of course, it’s always encouraged to come early and stay all day to cheer on your teammates!

  5. Where to I go once I arrive? We’ll share the location of our tent during practice as our race day gets closer. Otherwise, look for our our orange tents, or hit the information trailer near the entrance of the venue and ask them for our location.

  6. What do I bring as a spectator or racer? Handy guide from MCA here. Coaches will have your race plates, at least this first time.

  7. Will there be food? There will be snacks for racers, and there will also be concessions for racers and families.

  8. If the weather is bad the day of the race, how will I know it’s still on or timing is adjusted?

    1. Sign up for race day weather alerts here: https://www.rainedout.net/team_page.php?a=e4566b6b5bb7b907ee2a

  9. How can I see race times?

    1. Unofficial results are posted here on race day: http://www.precisionrace.com/mca

    2. Official results are posted on the MCA website in the days after the race.

  10. If you haven’t done this before, once you get there, relax, ask a veteran all your questions. It’s a bit overwhelming, we’ve all been there before, but race weekends are the BEST weekends and soon you’ll get into the swing of it.

RACE DAY VOLUNTEERS: We need you!

There are two ways to help:

1) VOLUNTEER FOR TEAM NEEDS! You can sign up right in TeamSnap under the Assignments tab for race day events. This includes:

Saturday Set Up: We need one family and a couple of coaches to help set up the tent, haul supplies, etc. Hauling the trailer to the event is something that Coach Andy normally handles, but it would be good to have a back up!
Photographers: for Middle School and High School races. Getting every WBL team member in action is the goal!
Sunday Take Down: We need a couple of families and coaches to help take the tent down and haul supplies back to the trailer. Then we’d like to have back up for trailer hauling.

2) VOLUNTEER FOR THE LEAGUE! Sign up here.
